Hood River MS Track

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD 2016 AGENDA

All Practices start at 3:30pm and will go until 5pm

Practice is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday(if there is no meet) and Thursday (if there is no meet)

Activity Bus leaves HRMS @ 5:20 and leaves WyEast @ 5:50

Dismissal times for meets will be announced the week of the meet*

Registration for Track and Field will be online ONLY this year. You can register at hrvathletics.com

Goals:

“Teach teamwork, the importance of hard work and how to focus”

  • To respect and encourage fellow team-mates
  • To respect and follow the Coach’s’ instructions.  
  • To learn how to handle T&F equipment properly in a safe environment.
  • To learn healthy exercises and proper body mechanics.

What the athlete will need:

  • Proper running shoes and attire ( i.e. running sneakers, shorts, sweatpants, t-shirt, hoodie, hair tie, etc.)
  • A water bottle.

What the parent(s) the of athlete will need:

  • Healthy foods and snacks.
  • This agenda that will have all our rules and contact information should they wish to reach us.

Rules of Track and Field at HRMS and Wy-East:

  • After being taught the how-to’s and what-this-is-for for practice and competition, there will be NO EXCUSE for any kind of horseplay or tom-foolery. Any student who engages in such will be disciplined.
  • Every athlete must bring a water bottle to practice and to meets. The importance of staying healthy and hydrated while being in motion is essential.
  • Students must have a passing grade to participate in the meets. Practicing will be allowed with  passing grades with an agreement from the administrators.
