Game Recap

The Eagles posted a sweep against a tough, young Wilsonville team, and punched their ticket to the quarterfinals at Liberty High School next Saturday afternoon. It was far from a typical sweep, with the only difference in the match being a little luck, more experience, and a whole lot of grit. The first game we were down 10-17, went on some major runs and took the 26-24 win. Kennedy James came up big with six kills in the set and some really smart play. In the second set, we got down even more, 8-17, and climbed back into it with some great serving and hitting, grinding out the 30-28 win. The final set, the Wildcats went up 14-8, and we made some quick runs and tied it at 15, but once again we ground out the win at 26-24. It was a great team victory, with different players stepping up in every set to get the sweep. Our kill leaders were Shae Duffy(12), Katie Kennedy(11), and Kennedy James(11). Hannah McNerney and Emily Curtis combined for 34 assists and six total team blocks. Shae Duffy added 3 total blocks and nine digs to go with Katie Kennedy’s team high 11 digs. Next up for the Eagles is the quarterfinals at Liberty High School, 1:15pm this Friday against Summit. Go Eagles!
