The Eagles flew fast on their last dual meets of the season against the Riverhawks and the Buckaroos. The girls scores were Hood River 104 – Pendleton 65, and Hood River 129 – The Dalles 37 to swim faster than both Pendleton and The Dalles at our Double Dual on Thursday night. The boys split their meets, winning the dual with The Dalles 93-50, but losing the dual with Pendleton 85-71.
Winning two individual events against both teams were only three swimmers last night – Sarah Arpag took top honors in the 100 fly and 100 back (in a season best time of 2 seconds), Chad Klaas won both the 50 free and 100 fly, and Luke Southall finished strong with a win in the 200 free (season best time of 6 seconds) and the 100 free.
Quite a few swimmers had season bests in two events at this end of the season dual. This included Corbett Blackman (50 and 100 free), Chloe Bullock (400 free and 50 breast), Lourdes Chamorro (50 free and 50 breast), Hazel Farr (100 free and 100 back), Campbell Keller (200 IM and 100 fly), Neilly Kendall (50 free and 50 back), Abby McCormack (50 free and 100 breast), and Sarah Wang (50 free and 50 back).
The team celebrated the end of their dual meet season (and the end of finals!) with with dinner at the Thai House. The girls ended the year with a W-L record of 10-1, and the boys W-L-T of 4-6-1.
The swim team wraps up their season with the District Meet held in Hood River on Feb 8-9th. Finals begin at 11am on Saturday – so come cheer on your swimmin’ Eagles!
