Many athletes are on holiday this week, but the swimmers have spent their break training and even enjoying their first dual meet at home. The girls won 116-53 while the boys team lost a close one to the Gophers 70-79.
Senior Faith Ocheskey and Sophomore Sarah Arpag led the girls team with wins in both their individual events. Faith took first in the 50m and 100m free, while Sarah won the 100m fly and 100m backstroke events. Both girls were on the winning 200m Medley and 400m Freestyle relays as well. Senior David Hecksel led the boys team with wins in both the 50m free and 100m backstroke.
Madaket Greenleaf won the 200m free and was 2nd in the 100m fly, while Olivia Sumerfield took top honors in the 400m free and placed 3rd in the 200 IM. Gavin Hackett also took top honors in the 100m fly with a 2nd place in the 100m back, while Clayton Lee was first in the 100m free and 2nd in the 200m IM. Adam Burke had a very strong showing with 2nd places in both the 200m and 400m freestyle events, while Lillie Tomlinson was 2nd in both the 50m and 100m freestyles. Lucas Elliott was 2nd in the 100m breaststroke and 3rd in the 200m IM, while Angus Kellems was 3rd in both the 50m and 100m freestyles. Abby McCormack finished 2nd in the 200 m IM and she was 3rd in the 100m breaststroke. Emma Titus placed 2nd in the 100m breaststroke and 3rd in the 100m free at the meet, while Chloe Bullock was 2nd in the 400m free and 4th in the 200m freestyle.
Others scoring points for the Eagles included Moze Banks with a 4th in the 200m free and 5th in the 100m breaststroke, Campbell Keller with a 4th place in the 100m breaststroke, Neilly Kendall with a 4th place finish in the 50m free and 5th place in the 100m back, Mary Rose Kissinger who was 4th in the 400m free and 5th in the 200m free, Jack Wilson who was 4th in the 100m free, while Abby Tomlinson and Abi Loihl assisted the team with scoring relays.
