On the HRVHS Speech and Debate Team you will improve your speaking skills, learn to think analytically, and meet new people.

Speech and Debate meets on Thursdays at lunch and practices on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:20 – 5:30. (Room CO2)

The team attends tournaments once a month and competes in OSAA District and State tournaments in April. Competitors can qualify to compete at the National Tournament in June.

Many students successfully balance Speech and Debate with other sports, activities and clubs.

Team fees are the same as for a sport ($140) and Speech and Debate is an official OSAA activity.
